POLICIES & PROCEDURES:
WHISTLEBLOWING
Crosby Training is committed to maintaining high standards of openness, integrity, and accountability. This policy provides a framework for raising genuine concerns about suspected wrongdoing, misconduct, malpractice, breaches of law, safeguarding concerns, or risks to learners, staff, the organisation, or the public.
SCOPE
The policy applies to employees, workers, contractors, agency staff, volunteers, and others engaged by Crosby Training where relevant. It covers concerns raised in the public interest and is not intended for personal grievances or employment disputes unless wider wrongdoing is involved.
PRINCIPLES
Crosby Training will treat all concerns seriously, fairly, and confidentially where possible. Individuals raising genuine concerns will be protected from victimisation, harassment, or retaliation. Concerns will be investigated proportionately and appropriate records maintained.
PROTECTION FOR WHISTLEBLOWERS
Individuals may raise concerns confidentially and can expect fair treatment throughout the process. Concerns raised in good faith are protected. Knowingly false or malicious allegations may result in action being taken.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Employees and workers should report concerns promptly and cooperate with investigations. Managers are responsible for receiving and escalating concerns appropriately. Senior leaders or designated investigating officers will oversee investigations and ensure concerns are handled objectively and confidentially.
REPORTING CONCERNS
Concerns should normally be raised with a line manager. Where this is not appropriate, concerns may be escalated to a senior leader or other suitable person. Reports may be made verbally or in writing and should include relevant information and evidence where available.
INVESTIGATION
All disclosures will be assessed and investigated as appropriate. Individuals will normally receive acknowledgement of their concern and updates during the investigation process. Outcomes will be communicated where possible, subject to confidentiality and legal requirements.
SAFEGUARDING & EXTERNAL REFERRALS
Concerns involving learner welfare or safeguarding will also be managed through safeguarding procedures. Where necessary, concerns may be referred to external regulators, professional bodies, safeguarding authorities, or other appropriate agencies.
MONITORING & REVIEW
Whistleblowing concerns are monitored to identify themes, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement. The policy is reviewed regularly to ensure continued compliance with legal and organisational requirements.
