POLICIES & PROCEDURES:
CAREERS EDUCATION, INFORMATION, ADVICE & GUIDANCE

Crosby Training is committed to providing high-quality, impartial, and accessible Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) that supports adult learners to make informed decisions about learning, employment, and career progression. CEIAG is designed to raise aspirations, develop employability skills, and help learners achieve their personal and professional goals.

AIMS

Crosby Training aims to:

  • Provide accurate, impartial, and confidential careers guidance.
  • Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and British values.
  • Support learners in making informed choices about education, training, and employment.
  • Deliver CEIAG in line with the Matrix Standard, Gatsby Benchmarks, and relevant statutory requirements.
  • Ensure guidance is recorded appropriately and shared only with consent or where safeguarding obligations apply.

CEIAG DELIVERY

CEIAG is embedded throughout the learner journey, from initial enquiry and enrolment through to completion and progression. Services are delivered by qualified careers advisers, supported by tutors and programme staff, and include:

  • One-to-one guidance appointments.
  • Group tutorials, workshops, and themed sessions.
  • Enrolment and open-day information sessions.
  • Progression and transition planning.
  • Guidance on employment, apprenticeships, volunteering, further learning, and higher education.
  • Access to current labour market information and careers resources.

Crosby Training also works with external partners, including the National Careers Service, to provide learners with additional specialist support where required.

SUPPORTING LEARNER PROGRESSION

CEIAG helps learners to:

  • Understand learning and career options.
  • Explore local and national employment opportunities.
  • Develop confidence, employability, and job-search skills.
  • Identify progression routes aligned to career aspirations.
  • Progress into employment, further learning, training, or other positive destinations.

Learners also have access to wider support services, including wellbeing resources, healthy lifestyle guidance, and complementary services that help remove barriers to participation and achievement.

QUALITY ASSURANCE & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

CEIAG provision is regularly monitored and evaluated to ensure quality, effectiveness, and compliance with Matrix accreditation standards and adult learning best practice. Learner feedback is actively collected and used to improve services, while all staff contribute to promoting and supporting careers education and guidance across the organisation.
