POLICIES & PROCEDURES:
EQUALITY, DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

Crosby Training is committed to creating a learning and working environment where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and fairness. This policy promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion by preventing discrimination, removing barriers to participation, and ensuring fair access to opportunities for learners, staff, partners, and visitors.

POLICY COMMITMENT

Crosby Training does not tolerate discrimination, harassment, bullying, victimisation, or abuse of power. We actively promote inclusive practices and seek to create an environment where individuals can participate, achieve, and progress regardless of their background, circumstances, or protected characteristics.

KEY PRINCIPLES

We will:

  • Promote equal access to learning, employment, and development opportunities.
  • Treat all individuals fairly and with respect.
  • Create an environment free from discrimination, bullying, and harassment.
  • Make reasonable adjustments where required.
  • Ensure information, resources, and processes are accessible and inclusive.
  • Use data, feedback, and quality improvement activities to identify and address inequalities.
  • Embed equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout training delivery, employment practices, and organisational decision-making.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Governance & Leadership Team is responsible for overseeing this policy and ensuring resources and monitoring arrangements are in place. Managers are responsible for implementing the policy and addressing concerns promptly. Staff must apply inclusive practices, challenge inappropriate behaviour, and report concerns. Tutors and assessors must ensure learning and assessment are accessible and responsive to individual needs. Learners are expected to treat others with dignity and respect and report any concerns.

LEARNING, ASSESSMENT & SUPPORT

Learning, teaching, and assessment will be inclusive and accessible, using diverse perspectives, appropriate adjustments, and flexible approaches where required. Reasonable adjustments may include adapted delivery methods, additional time, assistive technology, alternative formats, communication support, or changes to learning environments, subject to legal and awarding body requirements.

REPORTING CONCERNS

Any concerns relating to discrimination, harassment, bullying, or victimisation will be taken seriously, investigated appropriately, and managed through the relevant procedures. Individuals may raise concerns through complaints, safeguarding, management, or other reporting channels.

MONITORING & REVIEW

Equality-related data, feedback, complaints, participation, achievement, and progression information are reviewed to identify trends and improve outcomes. The policy is supported through staff training, learner awareness activities, partnership expectations, and regular quality assurance processes.
