If you’re a focused, enthusiastic individual, a Spectator Safety Certificate could set you on a new career path. Stewarding events from football matches to music festivals, this essential qualification opens a wealth of job opportunities. We have developed this course to combine Spectator Safety training with Health & Safety training, fire safety awareness, emergency first aid and terrorism awareness – giving you a comprehensive grounding and a head start in a Stewarding career.

The course framework provides a structured, proactive approach to managing crowds and ensuring a safe, enjoyable environment for all attendees. It focuses on clear communication, trained personnel, effective crowd management and robust incident response.
By meeting recognised safety standards and best practices, the Award aims to ensure spectators, staff and performers are protected while delivering a smooth event experience.
The Level 2 Health & Safety course gives a solid introduction to the principles needed to work safely and responsibly in a wide range of spectator environments. The course covers how to identify common hazards and assess risks to reduce the likelihood of accidents and injuries.
Fire awareness training provides an introduction to preventing, identifying and responding to fire risks – helping learners understand common causes of fire, fire prevention measures and evacuation procedures.

Emergency First Aid training gives learners the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively to sudden illness or injury. It covers how to assess a situation, manage a casualty, perform CPR and deal with common emergencies such as choking, bleeding and shock.
Terrorism awareness training is aligned with the Action Counters Terrorism framework, it focuses on identifying suspicious behaviour, knowing how and when to report concerns and maintaining vigilance at spectator events.
Working in Spectator Safety means being prepared for the unexpected. The right training gives you the confidence to stay calm, make good decisions and help people feel safe so they can enjoy the event.
