The Level 1 and Level 2 Awards in Customer Service can be applied to perhaps more careers than any other qualification. Since every business has customers, this qualification can be applied to roles as diverse as sales assistant and delivery driver.

These qualification are designed to give learners the fundamental knowledge needed to work effectively in a variety of customer service environments. They will help you build your understanding of key customer service tasks, including managing information and supporting events and how to apply this knowledge across different industries and jobs.

The Level 1 Award helps you develop the knowledge, understanding and essential skills that employers look for. It covers core abilities such as teamwork, independent learning and problem solving, as well as important professional qualities including appropriate behaviour and dress, strong interpersonal skills, effective communication and the capacity to support colleagues. It also provides insight into workplace practices and the way different roles and departments operate within an organisation.

The Level 2 Award in Customer Service builds on the comprehensive foundations of Level 1, with three mandatory units:

  • Principles of customer service and delivery
  • Understanding customers
  • Understanding employer organisations

You’ll then study four optional units, from a choice of 10, which include:

  • Communicating with customers
  • Handling customer information
  • Delivering customer service online
  • Resolving problems and delivering customer service to challenging customers
  • Handling objections & Promoting additional products or services and closing sales
  • Principles of Equality & Diversity in the workplace

Once you have completed your Level 1 Award in Customer Service, you may opt to build on your knowledge and study Level 2.
